On Monday 17th October 15 Year 11 pupils who had expressed an interest in health related careers, were taken to Aintree Hospital for by Fran Trought, School Careers Development and Guidance Coordinator and Sue Harvey, School Nurse. This was to attend the ‘Talent for Care’ NHS Careers Conference.
This conference was designed to explore a wide range of careers in the NHS at all levels, ranging from infectious disease control all the way through to radiography, audiology and medicine.
Initially the information session began in a lecture hall exploring NHS job roles via an interactive quiz. This then progressed on to stands with a range of specialist staff that the pupils talked to about their roles.
All pupils said they found the day very useful and they gained much greater understanding about job roles, experience required and the qualifications they should consider for the future. This was the first time this conference has taken place & we hope to attend again next year.
