Year 12 Acting
Year 12 Acting students are currently studying Ancient Greek Theatre for their RSL Diploma. They are rehearsing for a performance of the tragedy, ‘The Trojan Women’, by the playwright Euripides in 411b.c. The performers are using the style of a Greek Chorus in a retelling of what happened to the omen of the fallen city Troy after the massacre by the Greek army. Each actor has a solo speech as well as moments of stage fighting, group movement and choral work and song. We are performing the play to a public audience who will sit around the action either side of the performers to recreate the exciting feeling of a traditional amphitheatre.
