Hilbre Vs Calday Charity Football Match
Last Wednesday, 15th May, the charity match of the season took place at Prenton Park, home to the great Tranmere Rovers.
A thrilling match between Hilbre High School and Calday Grange Grammar School pursued, with Calday emerging victorious, stealing a 4-2 win. The excitement on the pitch was palpable as both teams displayed remarkable sportsmanship and skill. Despite the competitive nature of the match, the true winner of the day was the Macmillan Cancer Charity, for whom an impressive £4,356 was raised.
The event didn’t stop at the final whistle; a friendly penalty shootout followed the main game, with Hilbre emerging victorious.
It was great to see the two school communities come together for such a worthy cause. The spectators, players and organisers made it a truly positive experience that we cannot wait to do again.
A special thank you goes to Tranmere Rovers Football Club for their generous support in hosting the match, and to our sponsors @hannahs_west_kirby , @insanitybeach and @ryan.w.media for their generous donations.
Calday Grange Grammar School and Hilbre High School extend their deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to this remarkable fundraising effort. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting the vital work of Macmillan Cancer Charity, aiding those affected by cancer.
